It is a unique sculptural reserve named after its creator, sculptor Matyáš Bernard Braun. It was created at the initiative of Count František Antonín Špork at the turn of the 1720s and 1730s, and was declared a National Heritage Monument since the year 2001.

The educational trail “Let’s go together to Bethlehem” will guide you through Braun’s Bethlehem and the entire Baroquely-composed landscape around Kuks.  The seven-kilometre-long circuit has a total of 20 stops, and is in the terrain marked with Czech Tourist Club trail markings. The circuit from Kuks to Braun’s Bethlehem follows the red tourist trail, while the return journey follows the yellow trail. The educational trail notices were created and installed by KUKS Revitalization in the year 2013 thanks to EU funds.

Don’t feel like walking?

You can also drive to Braun’s Bethlehem from Kuks. The brown directional signs at crossroads will lead you all the way to the car park at the entrance to the Braun’s Bethlehem compound, near the village of Hřibojedy. From here it’s an easy thirty-minute walk directly to Matyáš Braun’s statues and back to your car.

Braun’s Bethlehem is found in the map portal here.
