From the square we set off down Palackého Street, past the church, to Jan Palach Bridge, and from here along the road to Žireč along cycle route no. 24. At the end of the cycle trail we turn left, and when we reach a crossroads we turn left again. At the first crossroads we turn right, and arrive in Choustníkovo Hradiště . We continue along cycle route no. 4097, in the direction of the villages of Kohoutov and Vyhnánov, and along the road through the Běluňka stream valley to the edge of the village Hajnice. Here we turn right in the direction of Proruby and, further along, Hořičky - on the village green there is the option of refreshments.
The reward for our efforts up to now is a downhill cycle all the way to Ratibořice, where we can take a look around Grandmother’s Valley.
On the return journey, we set off from the car park at the castle along cycle route no. 4098, through Větrník to the village of Chvalkovice (Krakonoš’ Inn is in the bend below). We continue along the road to Vlčkovice, Choustníkovo Hradiště and back to Dvůr Králové nad Labem.
