Set off for a walk through Africa. On the way you’ll have fun, learn something new, and discover many new types of animals. You should definitely not miss a visit to the gallery of paintings titled “Prehistoric Times through the eyes of Zdeněk Burian”, which is located in Neumann’s Villa in the zoo compound. The paintings depict the development of life on Earth, and will take you back in time to see extinct creatures. As soon as you come out of the past and back into the present, do not miss the African Safari, the only one in Central Europe, now with a large lion pen. The local train, which departs from the rope castle, will get you there faster. A drive among freely roaming herds of African hoofed animals, and even among lions, will be a unique experience for you! You can also look forward to a walk among individual pavilions in the pedestrian part of the zoo. What’s more, expert lectures relating to individual animals take place at selected pens throughout the day. When you get hungry, have lunch in Restaurace U Lemura [Lemur Restaurant] or at the refreshment stands which are located throughout the zoo. You can even stay the night; maybe go on an Evening Safari, and stay in the Safari Hotel or in the Safari Camp, where you will feel as if you are on a real African safari.
