You don’t necessarily have to travel thousands of kilometres to see Africa. It’s enough if you come to the Dvůr Králové Zoo, which often calls itself “Africa in the heart of Europe”. The largest collection of African animals in Europe awaits you here - antelopes, zebras, giraffes and rhinoceroses in large herds in the pedestrian area of the zoo, and in the African Safari.

The walking safari is open all year round, and you can also visit the big cat pavilion, tropical swamps, bird world, flamingo aviary, elephant, pygmy hippo, drill, meerkat and okapi pavilions, water world, insect world and the gorilla pavilion.

The African atmosphere is evoked by African art artefacts. During the main season, you can look forward to performances by the dancers of the IYASA group from Zimbabwe, other artists directly from Africa, and African cuisine. The zoo offers accommodation directly in the Safari Hotel or in the Safari Camp, with comfortable services and the option of free entry for the entire duration of your stay. The offer is complemented by a wide variety of services, from experiential programmes to various types of refreshments in several stands and in Restaurace U Lemura [Lemur Restaurant]. The zoo also contains the only gallery in the world with the original paintings of “Prehistoric Times through the eyes of Zdeněk Burian”.
